Hydrotherapy

Hydrotherapy, also known as water therapy, is an effective method for improving health by utilizing water for therapeutic purposes. Exercising in water offers buoyancy and resistance, enabling muscle strengthening and conditioning without impacting the joints. Immersion in hot water can dilate blood vessels, alleviate joint and muscle tension, and contribute to the healing process of injuries. For active dogs and other highly energetic breeds, engaging in recreational hydrotherapy can enhance stamina, endurance, muscle strength, and athletic performance, and aid in the prevention of muscle strain and injuries.

At Lucky Dog, we use hydrotherapy solely for conditioning purposes. We are not a rehabilitation facility and cannot provide therapy for dogs recovering from injuries. If a dog has a previous history of injuries, we require a veterinarian's note stating that they are cleared for this type of exercise. We highly encourage all dog parents to be proactive and utilize this resource to keep their dogs fit, maintain a healthy weight, and ensure they get proper exercise.

Hydrotherapy sessions are set for thirty minutes, with the goal of having your dog work on the treadmill for twenty minutes. We may have to gradually increase this duration until we reach twenty minutes as your dog becomes more comfortable with the treadmill.

Every new client is required to attend a consultation before using the treadmill. This session ensures that your dog acclimates to our facility and the treadmill effectively. We never force any dogs into the treadmill, we will go at their pace and make them feel as comfortable as possible.
